Math: The class has been working with rates, ratios, and proportions. They just worked on similar figures. The figures had one missing side, and they had to use proportions to solve for the missing side. The other group is working on Geometry with angles including vertical, supplementary, complementary, and adjacent.
Religion: We just wrapped up our discussion on the process of how a baby grows in the womb and the birthing process. They handled the discussions very well with maturity. We will now continue working in our book next week.
Science: The class has been learning about ecosystems and ecology. They reviewed biotic and abiotic factors and learned about symbiotic relationships.
Social Studies: They continue to learn about Ancient Egypt. The created hieroglyphics this week and investigated a CSI about King Tut. If they haven’t brought in a shoe box, they will need to do so by next week.
Literature/Vocab: Next week, the students will be finishing up the final chapters of Sing Down the Moon. They will have a test over the book once we are finished. We will then begin a poetry unit.
English/Writing: On Wednesday, May 16th, the students will have a test over verbs. We will then begin creating an information brochure.
